It's a good idea to keep your machine up to date. Often the updates contain security fixes for vulnerabilities in software that can compromise a secure network. Keeping your machine safe keeps other machines safe around you.
Click the Start Menu in the lower left of the screen:
Click the Settings icon (gear icon) on the left side of the screen:
Click Update & Security:
Click Check for updates. Let Windows complete the check. If it lists available updates click Download to install the updates. Restart if necessary. Depending on how often you’ve been running updates this may take some time, so budget accordingly.
